"Exquisite and haunting, Laneway's songs float with a delicious melancholy, like the last days of summer,"

Laneway are no stranger to the festival circuit having performed live across the east coast and back again taking in shows in dance halls, diners and drinking holes as well as playing festivals all along the way. They have shared stages with local and international artists. Winners of the Whittlesea Country Music Festival's Best Duo Talent, headliners of the Brunswick 11 Spanish Angels City Country Music Festival a and a part of music programs at Peats Ridge Sustainable Arts & Music Festival, Tablelands Folk Festival, Soundings Showcase Festival, Ukitopia & Mullum Music Festival, Laneway are establishing a diverse and growing fan base.

2011 has seen O'Reilly and Hannan shortlisted for Queensland's most prestigious songwrting award, The Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship. This follows the release of their new single 'The Turbine'. Penned during the Great Rains of that summer and recorded to tape as the Brisbane River outside found its peak in the floods the song reveals dark and gently haunting tones . It creates much anticipation about what to expect from the forthcoming album.
