Mick-McHugh

15/4/12. "Acoustic guitar-driven songs, enveloped in upbeat realism, Irish singer-songwriter Mick McHugh is renowned as a performer who wears his heart on his sleeve with every note he plays." Since the release of his debut

EP in 2008, Irish singer-songwriter Mick McHugh has clocked up over fifteen nominations in international, national and regional song-writing competitions in categories of World, Folk, Lyrics, Ballad, Instrumental, Spiritual, Protest, and Song of the Year. In November 2009, he was presented an Honour Award for his song "A Long Way From Home" from his debut EP in international contest "100% Music". Selected for a music Brokership program by Arts Northern Rivers in 2011 and with his forth CD due out in 2011, there is a definite quiet excitement surrounding this emerging fresh Irish talent.

The Irish Troubadour has performed live on Australian TV and Radio, supported Aussie music icon Pete Murray and Australian Idol winner Damien Leith, toured to VIC, SA and QLD and played at Australian festivals Port Fairy Folk Festival, Green Fest, Fatherhood Festival, Coast Acoustics and is scheduled to play Glenn Innes Celtic Festival in 2011. His songs were the soundtrack to the award winning documentary „Two Abreast‟.
